Standardized Measure of Ischemic Exposure (S-MIX)

The S-MIX (Standardized Measure of Ischemic Exposure) calculates the total ischemic exposure of a cryonics patient expressed as the equivalent duration of normothermic ischemia. Click here to see a paper on the S-MIX.

Instructions

Enter the following information for each segment:
T0 = Temperature at the start of the segment in degrees Celsius.
T1 = Temperature at the end of the segment in degrees Celsius.
t = Duration of the segment is hh.fraction of hour.
(e.g. 30 minutes = 30 minutes/60 minutes in one hour = 0.5, 15 minutes = 15 minutes/60 minutes = 0.25, etc.) So 1 hour and 15 minutes is 1.25.

Press the "+" to add a segment or the "-" to delete a segment.

Note: "CPS" and "blood substitution with oxygenation" cannot be in the same segment, therefore they can not both be selected as "Yes" at the same time in any segment. You will get an error message."

When all segments are filled out, press the "Submit" button. Results will be dispalyed at the bottom. The result for each segment will be displayed and a Total S-MIX will be shown. The S-MIX is in hours and fractions of an hour. So 1.2 is 1 hour and 12 minutes (12/60), 1.25 is 1 hour and 15 minutes (15/60), etc.
